CoReMH 18th General Meeting was held
During the meeting, members exchanged inputs from 5 countries located along the Western Balkans transit route. The most prominent cross-cutting themes regarding mental health of refugees were noted:
- Mental health services for refugees across the region are in high demand, but resources remain severely limited, leading to long wait times and inadequate coverage.
- Access to mental health care is uneven, with significant disparities between urban and remote areas, and between different reception centers.
- Public attitudes toward refugees and migrants often include stigma and fear, as illustrated by community protests and resistance to shared public spaces, which further complicates efforts to support mental health and integration.
- Non-governmental organizations play a critical role in providing psychological support and bridging gaps in public services, but many are under financial strain and face increasing political and institutional obstacles.

As part of CoReMH joint research efforts, a research article on posttraumatic growth among refugees is published in the international journal Psychological Trauma: Theory, Research, Practice, and Policy and can be found on the following link: https://psycnet.apa.org/doiLanding?doi=10.1037%2Ftra0001945
The next meeting will be held in September 2025.
