In June, our members met for another General Meeting. In this session we introduced Local Updates where members from each location shared updates on the migration situation in their local contexts. Members had the opportunity to share both official information from local authorities regarding numbers of arrivals, as well as direct information from the field. This sharing of statistical information and practical experiences increases organizational capacities related to relevant trends and observations in the wider transit context.
In addition, colleagues from MdM Bosnia and Herzegovina shared their SOPs on Harm reduction program related to drug abuse among refugees in transit. The next step is to organize an info session for members and share experiences with conducting this specific program. Members have agreed that drug abuse remains a prominent issue for people on the move, and they recognized that there are not enough programs dedicated to tackling this problem.
